Nigerians have taken to Twitter to react to the ongoing back and forth between the Nigerian police and Army after some personnel of the latter opened fire and killed some personnel of the former in Taraba state.
The army in its response had said its officers mistook the deceased police officers for kidnappers while the police have accused the Army of deliberating killing its personnel and freeing a high profile criminal.
The police have since taken to Twitter to call out the army, asking Nigerians to pressure the army into providing answers for what they have done.
Nigerians have, in turn, expressed their shock and concerns.
If you are not alarmed about Nigeria, the NPF vs Army Twitter tiff should scare you to bits. Do you know the level of dysfunction it takes for that to happen? For one service arm to accuse the other of facilitating the escape of a criminal & murdering its men INTENTIONALLY?

I’ve always said it that the bullshit we allow to go unaddressed in this country is enough to go round. If Soldiers are now shooting and killing policemen just to free a kidnapper, politicians with police/military escorts should be really afraid. #ProvideAnswersNigerianArmy

I feel more vulnerable now than I ever did. If the lack of coordination between Police and Army could lead to the death of 3 policemen & the escape of an alleged kidnapper, and it continues into a Twitter fight even after the President has set up an inquiry, how can I feel safe?

Should the Nigerian public decides to stage a protest to the Nigerian Army Headquarters, the same Nigerian Police will teargas us, so it is better we just do it on twitter with the Hashtag. I cannot come and go and kill myself.#ProvideAnswersNigerianArmy pic.twitter.com/ptIPiGzFii

RIP to the gallant men of @PoliceNG . But, when a Police Force also resorted to seeking for justice through twitter #ProvideAnswersNigerianArmy , like a common citizen, the security architecture of the nation has completely collapsed. pic.twitter.com/wxoHjmEoM4

3 young men trained and paid to protect the lives of Nigerians and their properties as police officers were allegedly gruesomely murdered by another group of men trained and armed by Nigeria to defend it’s territory… Yet you think all is well? #ProvideAnswersNigerianArmy
