Channels Television as a corporate entity can be described as a trail blazer and trendsetter in areas that are vital to children’s educational development.
As a highly reputable broadcasting outfit that stay miles ahead of competitors in terms of providing timely, relevant and verified news and information, the television station has contributed in no small measure to children’s development through the Channels Television Football Competition for children and the Channels Television Children Book Club Review Project.
Through Channels Television Book Club review projects, children are being inspired to read, understand and develop the abilities to analyse and review the contents of a book.
This year is the fourth edition and the children were required to read and write a review essay not more than 1,500 words of Jacquiline U.Agweh’s novel titled, A PELICAN OF THE WILDERNESS.
To inspire a better reading culture in children, the winner, first runner up and second runner up of the 2019 Channels Television book review edition will be travelling to the United States of America on sponsored trip to the 50th celebration of Boucheron in Dallas,Texas as reward for their achievements.
This is indeed a laudable achievement on the part of Channels Television, and more of such are required from other corporate organisations for the benefits of our children and to ensure a better, safer and brighter future for our children.
In this era when children are facing excess distractions, especially from the entertainment world, and the continual release of unwholesome content that are distracting the minds of children, deliberate efforts must be put in place to ensure children’s intellectual desires do not die down.
With these initiatives, Channels Television has helped to add value to the psychomotor domain of education through the Channels TV children football competition, and the cognitive domain through the Channels TV children book review project.
